Queen Latifah Performing ‘America the Beautiful’ at Super Bowl XLVIII [Video]
Queen Latifah is going to the Super Bowl.
She has been selected to perform "America the Beautiful" before the start of Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
The singer, actress and daytime talk show host, who hails from New Jersey, previously sang "America the Beautiful" at the 2010 Super Bowl.
Jennifer Hudson, joined by the Sandy Hook Elementary School chorus from Newtown, Conn., had the honor last year.
This past Sunday, Latifah officiated at the wedding of 34 gay and straight couples during Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' performance at the Grammy Awards.
The NFL announced last week that opera star Renee Fleming will sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, with Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers being the halftime performers.
Super Bowl XLVIII, pitting the Denver Broncos against the Seattle Seahawks, will air on Fox on Sunday night.
