After thousands sold their homes, flushed away their bank accounts, alienated their families and worse, Preacher Harold Camping's May 21, 2011 apocalypse prediction didn't come true.  But don't worry... He just miscalculated, again.

It's not the first time the Baptist "radio-preacher" has predicted the end of the world and it's obviously not the first time he has been wrong either.  I have proof!  You & I are still here.

So, Harold goofed again.  His first apocalyptic prediction was in 1994.  Most recently, last weekend, now... October 21st, 2011.  The time between now and October is suppose to be some kind of "silent judgment period" for who is chosen to head to the pearly gates on 10-21-2011.  Staying out of the public eye for a couple of days after his predicted judgment day, Mr. Camping said he had miscalculated again, BUT... the end is now coming this fall.

Does the 3-strike rule apply here?  His hardcore followers are a bit upset to say the least.  But the 89 year old Camping insists that judgment day DID in fact actually happen on Saturday.  New York Magazine grabbed his quote telling everyone,

"On May 21, this last weekend, this is where the spiritual aspect of it really comes through. God again brought judgment on the world. We didn't see any difference but God brought Judgment Day to bear upon the whole world. The whole world is under Judgment Day and it will continue right up until Oct. 21, 2011 and by that time the whole world will be destroyed," he proclaimed.

According to reporter Katherine T. Phan of the Cristian Post, The president of Family Radio, the Cristian radio network that carries Mr. Camping's preachings coast to coast via syndication said he agreed to speak because many people have been asking and that he had to "honorably" face that.  The unapologetic Camping had this to say,

"Are you ready to shoot yourself or go on booze trip or whatever?" Camping said of people's questions to him.

I don't know, but this dude sounds like a failed, false prophet doing his best to deflect the fact that he screwed-up, again, BIG TIME!  He now persists that his ramblings were taken more literal when it should have been spiritual.  Camping also went on to say,

"God brought Judgment Day to the whole world. The whole world is on Judgment Day. It will continue to Oct. 21, 2011 and at that time the whole world will be destroyed."

But Camping was firm when he said the same exact thing regarding his May 21st prediction.  So what does this power tripping preacher expect us to believe?  Especially those who sold their homes, gave every last penny to Camping's "Judgment Day Fund" and slammed the social door on friends and family who questioned their decision to do away with all worldly possessions and live like the rapture really was coming on the 21st of May?

Since the score is now... Earth-2, Harold Camping-0 if you are keeping the score since the first prediction in 1994.  When October 21, 2011 comes and passes, then what?  Another unapologetic statement?  Maybe just another faulty pharmaceutical miscalculation?

I doubt the guy will be held to the lowest of low standards as the likes of Jim Baker, but his days of "whoops-a-daisies" will definitely hurt his following.

Well... I guess all I can say to all this shenanigans is have fun this summer before round III of Apocalyptic-Appaloosa (October edition), and I'll have a "we are all still here & living well" call-in special when I'm on the air, on this station on Saturday October 22, 2011.

Rock on! ~Dano
