RECALL: HP and Compaq Laptop Cords

There’s another recall to tell you about.  This one applies if you own an HP or Compaq laptop/notebook computer.

HP is recalling over 5 million power cords because of a risk of overheating and melting or charring.  The power cord is the LS-15 AC model.  The problem that prompted a recall has caused minor burns and 13 claims of property damage.

If you own the cord, immediately stop using the cord and unplug it.  Then you can:

CALL Hewlett-Packard at (877) 219-6676 from 11am to 8pm eastern Monday-Friday, or

CLICK HERE and choose “recalls” at bottom, then select power cord recall.
