RECALL: HP and Compaq Laptop Cords
There's another recall to tell you about. This one applies if you own an HP or Compaq laptop/notebook computer.
HP is recalling over 5 million power cords because of a risk of overheating and melting or charring. The power cord is the LS-15 AC model. The problem that prompted a recall has caused minor burns and 13 claims of property damage.
If you own the cord, immediately stop using the cord and unplug it. Then you can:
CALL Hewlett-Packard at (877) 219-6676 from 11am to 8pm eastern Monday-Friday, or
CLICK HERE and choose “recalls” at bottom, then select power cord recall.
