Central Michigan lost a tough Mid American Conference game at home last night to Toledo, 28-23.

The game had a huge impact on the conference title chase, so the CMU fans were a bit raucous, which caused something I don't think I've ever seen before: the ref stopped the game to tell the CMU cheerleaders and band to knock off the noise already.

A Chip fan named Big Cat posted this video on Vine last night, showing the ref chastizing the students for making too much noise.

Just so you know, according to NCAA rules, fans are allowed to scream as loud as they can at a game, but the band and the cheerleaders, as representatives of the University, cannot cause extra noise when the opponent is preparing to snap the ball. This can even cause a penalty if it gets excessive.

Still, it isn't something you see that often.
