Part one of the "Dancing With the Stars" finale doesn't air until tonight, but local favorite Ginger Zee will have an uphill battle to the title.

The Good Morning America meteorologist and Rockford native is one of the final three contestants, but she'll be competing with a serious injury.

Zee gave birth to a son, Adrian, back in December, and that, mixed with the intense rehearsal schedule has caught up with her. After last week's episode, she felt a spasm in her back and eventually went to a physical therapist. That's when she found out her pelvis is "moving all over."

"I couldn't even do two of my dress rehearsal runs," Zee says, "because for one, I can't even do some of the moves. I'm not allowed to. So [ensemble dancer] Jenna stood in for me, and I was able to kind of watch. I'm not there. I'm not even close to where I need to be to perform."

If the meterologist can't perform, she and partner Val Chmerkovskiyhave to forfeit...but let's not get ahead of ourselves. "It's not like I'm taking a risk that I'm going to injure my back for the rest of my life," she explains. "I'm planning to [perform], so we're going to do everything we can to rest."

Part one of the "Dancing With the Stars" season finale premieres tonight at 8pm ET on WZZM-13.
