Thanksgiving evening, Joe Risdon passed away from pancreatic cancer at the young age of 34, leaving behind a wife and three young daughters. The community of Cascade is rallying behind this young family with some fund raising events this weekend.

Joe's brother-in-law, Nate Golembeske joined the Jojo Show Friday to talk about Joe's legacy and how you can help out.

Under the banner of #homeystrong (Homey was Joe's nickname), Cascade will hold a couple of fund raisers Saturday to honor the life of Joe Risdon.

The first will be at the Ada fire station immediately following the Ada Christmas parade (which kicks off at 11:00am) , where hot dogs will be served with proceeds going to the Homey Strong Fund.

The second will be held at the Cascade Sports Grill (CSG) at 6240 28th Street SW in Cascade, where a benefit and silent auction will be held from 2:00pm Saturday until close.

They have also set up a GoFundMe page if you can't make it out to either of the events this weekend.

Nate stopped by and told us about the events and how Joe impacted the lives of those around him. You can listen to the entire interview below.
