The hit 2003 movie will hit the Broadway stage as 'School of Rock -- The Musical' in December. Jack Black is not involved, but the musical will get new music penned by Broadway legend Andrew Lloyd Webber (Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita).

'School Of Rock' will once again follow Dewey Finn (originally played by Jack Black), a down-on-his-luck rocker who into a job as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. Not wanting to waste his time on the three 'R's, reading, 'riting, and 'rithmatic, Dewey instead teaches the kids to rock out as a full blown rock band, complete with attitude and a mind-altering light show.

The original movie was loosely based on the Langley School Music Project, and has since inspired an actual music school, much like the one Dewey operates at the end of the original movie.

Featuring the original songs from the film, a book by Julian Fellowes, lyrics by Glenn Slater, new music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and direction by Laurence Connor, this new take on the show will teach you about where life can lead you if you stop listening to 'The Man' and rock out!

In addition to the musical, 'School of Rock' will also get new life as a Nickolodeon TV series beginning in September.
