Several shots were fired during an armed robbery attempt Friday morning at Juhas and Sullivan Jewelry on East Paris Ave. Three men walked into the store and attempted to rob it before firing shots and fleeing.

The crime happened around 11:15 a.m. in the Terrazzo shopping complex, according to the Kent County Sheriff's Department.

No one was hurt in the robbery, and officers discovered a hammer at the scene.

A license plate from the getaway car has been traced to a home in southeast Grand Rapids. Grand Rapids police stopped a suspicious vehicle that met the description of the getaway car at Hall Street and Eastern Avenue SE. Two people were taken into custody at that scene.

Police from Grand Rapids, Kentwood, East Grand Rapids, and the Kent County Sheriff's Department have responded.
