Sinead O'Connor is said to be out of harm's way after reportedly overdosing in Ireland. Police in Dublin had no comment on the situation, but a source tells Billboard that O'Connor "has been located and is safe."

Trouble began when Sinead posted an alarming Facebook message yesterday that read like a possible suicide note.

In the lengthy post, O'Connor said she had been betrayed by just about everyone in her life in recent months - and appeared to see only one option. "The last two nights finished me off. I have taken an overdose," she wrote. "There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I'm at a hotel, somewhere in ireland, under another name. If I wasn't posting this, my kids and family wouldn't even find out. Was dead for another fortnight since none of them bother their hole with me for a minute."

O'Connor and her representatives have been mum about her current condition or where she currently is following the ordeal, other than to note that she is 'safe' and 'receiving medical treatment'.

Her web site also appears to be currently offline.

O'Connor's first and biggest US hit was her take on the Prince song 'Nothing Compares 2 U' in 1990.
