The son in law of the couple that was murdered near Caledonia earlier this week has been charged with murder.

According to WOOD TV, the sheriff department said Nathan Board has been charged with two counts of felony murder and two counts of open murder of his in-laws, 62 year old Patty Syrek and 66 year old Theodore Syrek.

The Syrek's daughter was currently divorcing Board which may have led to the murder. The 63rd District Court formally charged him today (Friday).

Board also has additional charges of resisting arrest, assault of a police officer and obstructing justice. The sheriff department said he struggled with officers during the arrest.

Earlier this week on Tuesday the Syrek's were found murdered in their home in Bowne Township just east of Caledonia. An autopsy showed the couple suffered blunt cranial cerebral trauma. The medical examiner could tell the couple had been beaten by another individual. No word on what Board used to beat the couple with.
