According to the description on their YouTube video, MSU researcher Zhiyong Xi and his team are using "mosquito factories" to combat the spread of diseases that mosquitoes are known to spread.

Basically, the way that their doing it will cause sterilization when the flying menaces mate, which will reduce the mosquito population worldwide.

No pesticides, good! Injecting mosquitoes with bacteria? I mean, as long as we don't end up with a Godzilla type mosquito I'm good with that I guess.

Seems to be successful, too!

Side note: 5 million mosquitoes a WEEK?!?! That's only mildly terrifying.
