"Blood, Sweat & Beers!"

That's the motto of White Flame Brewing Co. in Hudsonville.

With the fourth annual Summer Craft Beer Festival less than a week away! (I’m counting down the days…) myself and Metalhead Ned from our sister station 97.9 WGRD took a trip down to Hudsonville to check the place out and sample some of the beers they’ll be bringing to John Ball Park this Saturday, July 19.

I’ve never been to White Flame before but they’ve been on my radar since last year’s Summer Craft Beer Festival- an entire year!

I totally dig the atmosphere; check out this awesome artwork for their beer labels!

Owner Bill White and head brewer Andy Steenbergen were there to guide us through our beer tour.

I’ve said it before: I’m an IPA girl. I love hops!

Thus, White Flame’s Double Tap IPA was my favorite by far.

A session ale with a 4.5% ABV (alcohol by volume) Double Tap’s name comes from the two shots necessary to ensure a zombie is really dead (watch the movie Zombieland).

You can totally taste the Amarillo and Citra hops that give Double Tap it’s refreshing, citrusy flavor.

I also loved their Super G IPA- a stronger, maltier IPA made with Galena hops.

Like I said, I love hops!

Come sample beer from White Flame Brewing Co. along with dozens of other local and out-of-state breweries this Saturday, July 19 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. during our Summer Craft Beer Festival at John Ball Park!
