In January, downtown Grand Rapids lost a popular, and really needed business. If you work downtown, and ever needed something quick, like a snack, or cigarettes, candy, magazines, newspapers, whatever...you would go to Elliott's.
Expansion of DeVos Place Convention Center, a soccer stadium, and a new hotel are all projects being considered by Grand Action, a business-based nonprofit, responsible for Van Andel Arena, Civic Theatre, Downtown Market, and more.
I live pretty close to downtown Grand Rapids. Whenever I'm asked what downtown GR is lacking, I always say the same thing-- a grocery store!
Well, now it looks like one may be on the way. Kind of. From the sound of it, the new store proposed at 38 Commerce will have more options than what's currently available, but won't carry all the items one might seek on a full-on trip to the grocery store.
When you're behind the wheel you have to focus on the road. You never really get a chance to enjoy the scenery, to stop and smell (view?) the roses. Well this YouTube video shot in down town and you can click and drag on the video to have a good look around beautiful downtown.
