Every year, as fall approaches, we start to see pumpkin spice lattes available at our favorite coffee shops. Even though you hear many people joking about how everything is "pumpkin spice" flavor, apparently we like that taste here in Michigan.

Today, June 2nd is National Doughnut Day and people all over will be celebrating by eating more doughnuts than they normally do. Of course, doughnut shops around the country will be celebrating by offering deals and freebies on this delicious dessert...

There's a day for pretty much everything out there - donut day, eat whatever you want day, and now, iced tea day! June 10th is officially National Iced Tea Day! How can you celebrate?!?

If you have driven along Plainfield Avenue NE the past week or so, you have probably noticed what I did over the weekend. There's a Dunkin' Donuts back in Grand Rapids! It is close to where the last Dunkin' Donuts was located - that store closed a couple of years ago. There were also ones on 28th Street SE and in Grandville, but those closed, too.

Friday is the day. My friend Shonda sent me an email yesterday stating "Here’s something to talk about. LOL. Dunkin Donuts is rolling out a donut breakfast sandwich. Apparently their Facebook page is crawling with people denouncing it as the downfall of healthy breakfast." So of course since it has to do with food, Im all over it...

All I can think is Homer Simpson is rolling over in his beer drenched grave. Can't you hear a "Mmmmmm...Donnnuuttss...aaarrggghhh" Coming from his mouth? I'm drooling just thinking about it. Friday is "National Donut Day" and donut shops around the area are celebrating! Yum!

I guess it's the way of the world...New things are built and open, and old things close and sit there. In the past couple of days, a new Qdoba opened in Downtown Grand Rapids, and the New Ruth's Chris Steak House opened in the old 1913 Room in the Amway Grand...
