It was 37 years ago today that the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior. While the ship is far from the only to have sunk in Lake Superior (since 1816 that number is 240) it's easily the most famous. Not many shipwrecks have a chart topping song written about them as well.
