Many businesses offer special deals on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11th, to show their appreciation to our veterans and active-duty military personnel.

The exact locations have not been revealed yet.

The promotion runs from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Some treats before trick-or-treating!

Bad news for fans of Applebee's (and IHOP). The parent company for both restaurants announced Thursday that they will be closing more than 100 Applebee's locations and 20-25 IHOP locations in the coming months.

There is a great website, Grand Rapids Kids, that covers all things, well, kids. One of the best things they cover is how, or where, to feed your kids for FREE, or at least cheap.

Tuesday, March 7, 2017 is National Pancake Day! IHOP® is celebrating with FREE pancakes! On Tuesday from 7 am to 7 pm (with some select locations offering extended hours until 10 pm) you can celebrate National Pancake Day® at IHOP® and get a FREE a short stack of their world-famous, freshly made buttermilk pancakes!

Remember a few years ago when Denny's decided to close on Christmas Day? Most stores either didn't have locks on the doors, or if they did, no one knew where the keys were.

Just because the holiday is for kids and candy doesn't mean chains can't take advantage of the chance to make a deal and make some money, too. Behold Food Deals on Halloween 2014!

So this year IHOP threw us a curve ball. Last year, National Free Pancake Day was in February and on the same day as National Weather Persons' Day. Weather persons' day has come and gone, and Tuesday is IHOP Free Pancake day!

So take your pick! Fluffy stacks of hotcakes with warm syrup, or Alana Nehring or George Lessons! Id pick the weather people over the pancakes anyday! Although, IHOP does have a mean chocolate chip pancake! ;)

Hope you weren't hungry for some pancakes or a pie Sunday night, and headed out to your local Perkins. Because they are all closed. The 7 Perkins that were left in the Lower Peninsula are now shutdown.
