I seem to remember there used to be more food specials on Tax Day. Maybe the marketing people at fast food places are either getting cheaper, or they are realizing people are just going in for the free stuff and not actually buying stuff. Like me.
The current loves of my life. Besides my kids and a certain sports team or two, this is it. It's a long distance thing right now, but very soon we will be reunited. And to quote Peaches and Herb, it "WILL feel so good."
So Friday I made the trip to Detroit to try out for the daytime version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". As a self proclaimed "trivia nerd" I thought this would be perfect. I could ace the test and audition. For sure I'd be called to New York to win my million dollars!
If you know anything about me, I love White Castle! The little sliders you can only get in bigger cities (Howell outside of Detroit is the closest to Grand Rapids) are heaven. Yes, you can buy frozen WC Sliders in stores, it's just not the same. You HAVE to experience them in an actual location. What's also cool is the chain is socially conscious as well!
75 years ago, in Winston-Salem North Carolina, the first Krispy Kreme store opened. This, the first White Castle, and the first McDonalds location openings are holidays in my house, so I'll see you on Monday! Have a great weekend!
