Unless you have been living under a rock, you know tonight's Michigan Lottery Mega Millions Drawing is for 363 million dollars. It would be the 3rd biggest of all time on the 42 state lottery that started right here in Michigan as the "Big Game" back in 2002. It was the State Lottery's answer to Powerball, and now we play both of them 4 times a week.

OK maybe not as bad as last year's storm (although tell that to the people in Traverse City and along US 31, as they are supposed to get 24 inches between now and Tuesday) but we ARE supposed to get the first real snow of the winter from this system!

Isabella County Circuit Court Judge Paul H. Chamberlain ordered Central Michigan University faculty back into the classroom on Tuesday. The teachers have been on strike since Sunday, the day before classes for the Fall term began. As a former CMU'er and a friend of a couple of faculty members, I hope they get this whole thing worked out soon!

The annual Chicago to Mackinac boat race has a winner, and also has lost two racers. West Michiganders Doug and Dick DeVos were the first boat to finish the race, but with complicated scoring they might not win. Two other racers ended up not being so lucky.

Update: Rodrick Dantzler took his own life after safely releasing all the hostages. Police have confirmed that Rodrick Dantzler, the man who led police on a high speed chase through Downtown Grand Rapids after killing 7 people turned the gun on himself late Thursday night after a standoff with police. First it's the Perkins chain of family eateries, now a slightly older food and drink establishment is throwing in the towel. Our broadcast partner WZZM 13 is reporting the Grand Rapids Brewing Company on 28th Street is closing this weekend.

Hope you weren't hungry for some pancakes or a pie Sunday night, and headed out to your local Perkins. Because they are all closed. The 7 Perkins that were left in the Lower Peninsula are now shutdown.
