This model train display spans 14,000 square feet and (at the filming of this video) has taken 500,000 working hours to build. It's huge and tiny. It features mountains, valleys, oceans, cruise ships, a huge (tiny) airport, airplanes, highways, moving cars, a functional fire department with 'fires' to put out, oh and trains, LOTS of trains.

The amount of detail to this model is staggering.

The official video about Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg, the largest model railway in the world, and one of the most successful tourist attractions in Germany. On the 1.300 m² large layout, far more than a thousand trains, aircrafts, cars and ships move about. A wonder of the world in miniature. Please, find more information on http://www.miniatur-wunderland.com

Can you imagine getting paid to build a model train display. Obviously, you would need to know how to build them to begin with to get the job. Personally, my only experience with model trains is sitting at Bagger Dave's and seeing one drive by now and then.
