It’s June, and no doubt a lot of us will be spending our weekends in formal wear attending wedding after wedding, which means there are some people out there who’ll be getting rich.

And we’re not talking about the bride and groom.
It’s no secret that weddings cost a lot, and apparently those costs are increasing more and more each year. In fact, according to TheKnot.com, the average cost of a wedding last year was $31,213, which is up four-point-five percent from 2013. As for who’s spending that dough, the site found that a bride’s parents will shell out about 43-percent of the costs, with the couple also paying about 43-percent, and the groom’s parents spending about 12-percent.

That made 2014 the most expensive year for weddings ever.

But the bride and groom aren’t the only ones spending big money on the happy occasion. An average guest will spend $673 on a wedding, which is up 14-percent from last year. The amount goes for expenses like airfare, hotels, dining, as well as attire and a gift.

And let’s not forget the wedding party. Whether a bridesmaid or a groomsman, the members of the party can expect to shell out about $701, which is up from $618 last year.

Among the other findings by TheKnot.com’s survey:

Manhattan is the most expensive place to marry at a cost of over $76,000.

Utah is the cheapest at a little over $15,000.

June is the busiest month for weddings, followed by October.

December is the most popular month to get engaged.

Four or five is the average number of bridesmaids and groomsman a couple will have.
