A member of The Association has passed away. Larry Ramos died on April 30th, following a battle with metastatic melanoma. His daughter explains in a Facebook post that Larry had been ill since suffering a heart attack in 2011, and was diagnosed with the cancer last year.

Ramos officially retired earlier this year, with an Association concert in Grangeville, Idaho in February. In fact, he had just celebrated his 72nd birthday in his hometown of Kauai, Hawaii on April 19th. Larry joined The Association in 1967, following a four-year run with the New Christy Minstrels and a brief attempt at a solo career.

He left The Association in 1975 but returned four years later, and continued to perform and record with he group since then. Ramos is featured on two of The Association's biggest hits, "Windy" and "Never My Love."
