It's hard to believe it's been 50 years since The Sound of Music hit the silver screen, knocking out all existing box office records, and rolling up five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

As part of the anniversary, Celebration! Cinema will be hosting a special screening on two days in April so you can relive the magic on the big screen.

The special event will take place on Sunday, April 19, and Wednesday April 22.

Twentieth Century Fox, in conjunction with Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies will be sponsoring two screening each day at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

This not-to-be-missed cinematic event will include a specially produced introduction by TCM host Robert Osborne.

The hit musical was originally released in 1965 and has proven to remain a relevant and timeless classic. Hollywood recently paid tribute to the film and its landmark anniversary at the 2015 Oscars, which included a medley of four songs from the film as performed by Lady Gaga.

This year’s special two-day cinematic event will have people buzzing, humming and singing all the way to the box office.

What's your favorite song from The Sound of Music?

I've always been partial to "The Lonely Goatherd", but "Edelweiss" can still get to me as well.

And if you missed it, here's Gaga's surprisingly endearing tribute to the songs of The Sound of Music.
