It's not often you get two classic rock songs written about you, but Pattie Boyd, ex-wife of both George Harrison and Eric Clapton, has that honor.

Harrison penned the 1969 Beatles ballad "Something" about his then wife, Boyd, and Clapton countered with "Layla" in 1970, a song about his secret crush on her.

Boyd is exhibiting a series of candid photos featuring Clapton, Harrison and their musical friends this week in San Francisco.

Boyd, who eventually left Harrison for Clapton, documented her life in the inner sanctum of rock royalty in photography. Her photos will be on display (and up for sale) at the San Francisco Art Exchange through March 31.

The photographs feature Clapton, Harrison, and the Beatles on the road and at home, including historical photos taken during the Beatles famous trip to India, where they encountered the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and expedited the spread of Eastern religion in the west.

Boyd is philosophical when considering that two of rock’s greatest love songs were composed for her.

“I’m completely bowled over and amazed they were written for me,” she says.

“But it was inside them — the creatively was all theirs. I just happened to be there.”
