Late least year, the Detroit Tigers picked up free agent infielder Mike Aviles from the Cleveland Indians. Mike's heart is a little lighter today after he announced his daughter Adriana is now cancer free.

Last season, the entire city of Cleveland rallied around the Aviles family when Adriana, who is five years old, was diagnosed with the life threatening disease. At one point, his Indian teammates shaved their heads in support of Adriana after she lost her hair to chemotherapy treatments.

The announcement yesterday that little Adriana is in remission must come as a tremendous relief to the young family, who will be moving ot the Motor City in time for the 2016 season.

Spring training started Thursday for the Tigers in Lakeland, FL. The first spring training game is scheduled for February 29.
