Last month, Kristopher Larson, the CEO and President of Downtown GR Inc. delivered a 'State of Downtown' talk at the Pyramid Scheme in the Arena District.

Here's some of things he had to say.

Kristopher outlined the cleanliness of the downtown, a recent mural program to paint empty spaces in the area, and the amount of events held in downtown Grand Rapids over the past year. (223, an amount that is pretty staggering, when you consider all that is involved)

Also -- 50 new businesses popped up downtown last year, including 24 new bars and restaurants, and over 92 million dollars in new investments.

Larson also lays down some future plans for more mass transit and the recently implemented plans to help food trucks downtown.

All told, Larson says the State of Downtown Grand Rapids is momentous.
