The Republican National Convention is wrapping up in Tampa Bay. Now anyone who knows me knows I'm not very political, but one thing has happened this week that even has me, non-politic guy, shaking his head in disbelief. The state of the political system in this country has probably hit an all time low, along with the cable TV viewing tastes of millions of Americans.

As I was perusing Facebook this afternoon, I happened to come across a story which made me shake my head. The headline from the Hollywood Reporter screamed:

I really don't know what the "Honey Boo Boo" show is all about. I think it's some child who lives somewhere in the South who is also in those little girl beauty pageants that is such a big hit on the former "Learning Channel" (TLC stands for The Learning Channel, although I'm not sure what "Honey Boo-Boo" is teaching anyone)

All I know is that the "show" beat the coverage of the GOP Convention in the TV ratings. Like by a pretty wide margin. Redneck Toddlers and Tiaras beating the Republicans. Hmnmm, maybe THAT means something.

I just don't know what.
