The Who have a long list of accomplishments and they just added something else to their list, a new virtual 3D app.

“The Who Immersive App” is based around a 3D virtual world that features important events and landmarks from The Who’s 50-year history. The app’s staff includes frontman Roger Daltrey’s son, Jamie, who was directly involved with the app’s development and helping put together rare artifacts from the band.

Universal recently released “The Who Hits 50!” compilation alongside the app release. “The Who Immersive App” links to both download and streaming services and includes a “flythrough” exhibit of the new album compilation, which includes rare images. Future updates to the app will offer a virtual relationship with the band on their upcoming tour. British dates begin November 30, along with two North American runs starting in April and September 2015. The app is available for free with a premium version for Oculus Rift Virtual Reality headsets planned for 2015.
