If you’re a fan of star gazing or you like a little magic in your life, look up in the sky!  Not only are we getting the full 'Blood' or Hunter's moon, but we’re also getting shooting stars.

MLive reports that The Orionid meteor shower is going to really be visible this week as well, promising around 20 shooting stars each night.

So actually, Tuesday night through Thursday night, the moon will be full (technically, it’s full Wednesday night, but will look full the other two nights), and the Orionid meteor shower goes on until November 7th according to MLive.

This week (actually Sunday going into Monday was the peak) is brightest nights of the meteor shower, but as MLive says in their article, all this week you should be able to see around 20 per hour especially closer to dawn.

By the way, if you’re wondering why it’s called the 'Blood' moon, here’s what MLive said,

"The earliest use of the term 'Hunter's Moon' cited in the Oxford English Dictionary is from 1710," according to a NASA lunar blog by Gordon Johnston. "Some sources suggest that other names for the Hunter's Moon are the Sanguine or Blood Moon, either associated with the blood from hunting or the turning of the leaves in Fall."
