Power outages have already started to trickle in to Consumers Energy's real-time outage map. More than 6,000 residents of West Michigan are without power, and with the winds picking up throughout the day today, Consumer's expects that number to grow.

Here's a county-by-county look at the numbers as of 10 a.m. Thursday:

  • Allegan County: 2,245 customers
  • Barry County: 507
  • Calhoun County: 1,525
  • Ionia County: 487
  • Kalamazoo County: 358
  • Kent County: 206
  • Muskegon County: 27
  • Montcalm County: 66
  • Newaygo County: 71
  • Ottawa County: 1,044
  • Van Buren: 114

Consumers Energy will keep its outage map updated throughout the day and night, providing power outage information across West Michigan and throughout the state. If you click on individual areas, the map will show you the approximate location of the outage, the number of customers affected, and when power might be restored.

The outage center website also links to the map, and provides ways to report an outage. Customers also can call 1-800-477-5050 to do so.
