Superstition is alive and well in the game of baseball.  The Detroit Tiger's manager Jim Leyland and coach  Lloyd McClendon have been wearing the same underwear for weeks.

Leyland said he even refused to wash his shorts.  It started when the Tigers started a long winning streak. The winning streak ended last night at 12 games as the Oakland A's beat the Tigers 6-1.  (Now we know why when you saw the Tigers dugout,  Leyland and McClendon were alone on one side and all the other players on the other.:)

USA Today quotes Leyland as saying, "We still have to get one more somehow," Leyland said. "It was a nice streak but that's over and we have to finish it."   I imagine the dugout will be smelling better too, now that the streak is over.
