And what better way to “celebrate” than in Beer City, USA where the craft home brew scene is alive and thriving.

Now, I’m not going to start brewing my own beer. Home brewing is a science, and science and math were never my strongest subjects.

I just want to drink the beer.

Here are some ways in which you can take advantage of this additional excuse to drink today:

The inaugural Beer City Week continues today with a Beer City tour taking off at 5:15 PM and making stops at Big Bob’s Pizza, the SpeakEZ Lounge, and the Tip-Top Deluxe Bar and Grill.

Founders will also be sampling their All Day IPA and Centennial IPA in cans, as well as their Rubaeus today from 4-6 PM at the Breton Village D&W. Three of my favorite Founders beers!  I’m intrigued to see how they taste coming from a can.

And speaking of cans, Bell’s just released their Oberon and Two Hearted Ales in 16 oz cans in all markets that carry Bell’s today.

If you’re going to go out hunting for it, a heads up: 4 packs of the 16 oz. cans are available at the Bell’s general store in Kalamazoo, but not all retailers have received their shipments yet.

Bell’s also plans to release their seasonal beers in cans including Best Brown Ale, Winter White Ale and Smitten Golden Rye Ale.

I’m loving this new “craft-beer-in-cans” trend! And just in time for summer too!

I can’t wait to grab some cans of my favorite craft beer, throw it in the cooler, and hit the beach!

Try not to get dizzy watching this video of Bell's Oberon canning line test
