University of Michigan students might get quite a surprise when they go to purchase chips or a pop this semester. They'll find condoms in the vending machines in their dorm buildings as well.

This will be the first full year that the University will sell condoms in their vending machines. They were installed in April of this year but removed when various kids programs came through over the summer.

Free condoms were always available at the Student Health Center but some students said that was inconvenient for some students as it was a ways away and not only open.

Students tried to rally for condom dispensers in the bathrooms however, school officials said that was too expensive. So, they opted for the vending machine placement instead.

The condoms will cost $1.
