I probably am not shocking you with this news--March 2012 was the warmest March on record since the National Weather Service started keeping track of this kind of thing since 1870. So the warmest March in 142 years. That's pretty impressive!

Not only was March 2012 the warmest, it shattered the previous record by 5 degrees. March 1950 was the previous warmest March, with an average of 45.9 degrees. March 2012, 50.7! It was pretty darn warm around here. Yes, it's cooled off a bit in the past couple of weeks, but it was in the upper 80's around St Patricks Day. Still it's been pretty nice! And you dont have to shovel 60 degree temps!
