Bruce Springsteen fans will want to set their DVRs this week.  Last year, The Boss was the first rocker honored at the MusiCares Person of the Year, and the event is finally coming to TV.

“A Tribute To Bruce Springsteen” will air on PBS Friday at 9 pm, with some of today’s biggest names covering Bruce classics.

The concert, which was hosted by Jon Stewart, features  Neil Young performing “Born in the U.S.A.," (see video below), Elton John covering “Streets of Philadelphia,” My Morning Jacket’s Jim James and Tom Morrello teaming up for “The Ghost of Tom Joad,” Mumford & Sons covering “I’m on Fire,” and Patti Smith performing the song she co-wrote with Springsteen, “Because the Night.”

Also performing at the show were John Legend, who did an interesting take on “Dancing in the Dark,” (see video below), Alabama Shakes, who performed “Adam Raised a Cain” and Zac Brown Band and Mavis Staples, who collaborated on “My City of Ruins.” Springsteen of course couldn’t sit back and just be a bystander. He  and the E Street Band helped close the show with “Thunder Road” and “Born To Run.”
