This popped up on my Twitter feed today and for once I happened to catch it at the right time, so I thought I’d share.

Today NASA is testing the parachutes for their Orion Spacecraft.

The test was originally supposed to be at 10:30 a.m. EST but was delayed until 11:35 a.m. EST.

According the the NASA website:

NASA’s Orion spacecraft is built to take humans farther than they’ve ever gone before. Orion will serve as the exploration vehicle that will carry the crew to space, provide emergency abort capability, sustain the crew during the space travel, and provide safe re-entry from deep space return velocities.

As far as today's test goes, all I know is something's going to fall from the sky and I want to watch it fall!
