Before anyone knew that Super Bowl XLVIII would turn out to be a flop on the field, the big event kicked off with a great rendition of the national anthem combined with a flyover of U.S. Army helicopters over MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

The U.S. Army's 101st Combat Aviation Brigade took to the air to give fans one of the best flyovers we've seen at a Super Bowl. Thankfully, one of the crew members recorded the experience from inside a Boeing CH-47F Chinook helicopter as it passed over the stadium.

The video gives a great perspective of the event, but it also provides one of the coolest views of the pregame fireworks show as you look back through the helicopter.
