The moment a groom sees his bride walk down the aisle is certainly a special time, but did you ever stop and wonder what is going through that groom’s mind? Well, someone on Reddit asked just that and the replies they got were emotional, funny and sometimes sad.

A lot of people responded with things like “'Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry!,” or “Don't pass out!,” while some men said they felt “lucky” or “happy,” although some men didn’t have the bride on their mind at all. One guy admitted that he was thinking, “Those prosciutto wrapped asparagus appetizers are going to be so f***ing good,” as his bride walked up the aisle.

Some guys were focused on how their bride looked, and not always for the better. “She's not the dress up type most of the time, but that day she pulled it off so well I had to do a double take to make sure it was her,” wrote one man, while another added, “So much fake tan...My now-ex-wife is naturally pale, but had some horrendous fake tans. I married an umpa-lumpa.”

Another guy shared a heartbreaking story about how his wife miscarried just 72 hours before their wedding, and nobody but their close family knew what was happening. He wrote, “As she approached, all I could think about was how f***ing much I love her. What a strong, beautiful, and amazing woman.”

But men whose marriages didn’t last reported thinking things like, “I am making the worst mistake of my life,” and “'This is a mistake... This is a mistake,” while one guy who married a foreigner kept saying, “Please let this be legit, I hope she does not bail when she gets her green card.” Turns out it wasn’t legit, and she left him and he had her arrested for immigration fraud. So much for happily ever after. But hey - he got his!

Did you know you were making a mistake getting married before you went through with it? Why didn’t you stop the wedding? How long did the marriage wind up lasting?
