Here’s one that doesn’t shock us. A Harris Poll found that of all the TV shows that went off the air, Americans were most upset by the end of one in particular.

The sitcom Friends that lasted 10 seasons went off the air in 2004.

M*A*S*H came in second place. The army comedy ran for 11 seasons and went off the air over 30 years ago. The third place comedy was on the other end of the spectrum. Firefly only ran for 11 episodes, but fans were so distraught that creator Josh Whedon made a movie to tie up the loose ends.
