We just wrapped up the craft brew festival this weekend, and it got me to thinking about something.   My dad used to always drink "Blatz" beer, but I haven't seen it in a long time. So whatever happened to Blatz?

Did you know that Blatz was first produced in 1851? That's some old beer!

The "Blatz" beer label currently is produced by the Miller Brewing Company of Milwaukee, under contract for Pabst Brewing Company, managed by CEO, Charles Thomas Blatz - no relation to the owner! Weird!

The Blatz Brewery Building was purchased and converted to condos in 2005-2006. The Blatz building's downtown location has made it a premier place to live in Milwaukee. In 2008, Blatz Beer made its return to the brewery building. Rather than being brewed there, however, it is merely available for purchase from the Blatz Market & Liquor. Still cool though.

I guess you can still get Blatz, but not around here?  Bring on the Blatz!
