What’s Great About Muskegon?
If you have been a radio listener for a while in West Michigan, you probably know that I spent my formative years right here in Grand Rapids learning how to be a radio guy from some of the best in the business. I worked with Rick Beckett, Aris, Danny Douglas, Darla Jaye….the list goes on and on. I am happy to be back on the air now here at WFGR, but wanted to show you why I call Muskegon home now.
Pretty much, any given evening you can take a short drive down to Pere Marquette beach, which still ranks nationally as one of the best beaches in America, and see something like this. We also have Biketime, a brand new festival coming in 2013 and let’s not forget if you are a winter sports fan, the Winter Sports Complex where you can ride a luge. Beaches, historic ships, the future of NHL hockey with the Lumberjacks, beautiful landscapes and above all genuinely friendly people. This photo was snapped by former Muskegon hockey great Steve “Pee Wee” Herniman.
Come on out sometime and share an evening in Muskegon!
