As the annual construction season sets upon us here in West Michigan, this whimsical video takes us back to last summer when the Pearl Street bridge shut down for repairs on the West Side.

A person who worked above the bridge took some liberties to record the residents who clearly saw the sign that said 'ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC' and drove west anyway.

Last summer was a miserable time for those who used the Pearl Street bridge to navigate downtown Grand Rapids. A YouTuber by the name of DealerCamel recorded the zaniness that was cars and trucks driven people refusing to believe the bridge was closed.

Set to the classic song 'Yakety Sax' otherwise known as the 'Benny Hill Theme', this video documents the the steadfast stubbornness of those who think road signs aren't meant for them.

Good luck with that this summer.
