An Indiana woman, who was pulled over for speeding by a state trooper wants an apology after being shamed by the cop.  On September 28, Stephanie Foltz was on her way home from work when Trooper Thomas Manning stopped her.

The young mom of 2, whose teeth have been ravaged by her pregnancies, turned to talk to Manning and that is when he started questioning her “meth mouth.” When the trooper went to his car to check her information, she called to her husband, who told her to record the incident.

Foltz doesn’t want to file a complaint or have Manning lose his job, she just wants an apology for the cop’s assumption that because her teeth are a mess she does drugs. Looks like she may have to file that complaint.

Police spokesman Lt. Tom McKee addressed her concerns with this statement, “Good police work involves making observations and asking questions based on those observations,” he said. “We encourage our officers to look beyond the traffic ticket for signs of criminal activity. This did not rise to the level of a rule violation, or a violation of law. A discussion has occurred with the Trooper on how to be more tactful when conducting a traffic investigation. We now consider the matter to be closed.”

Should Stephanie Foltz get an apology?

Listen to her exchange with Manning and tell us what you think.

I felt it was a legitimate inquiry by the officer. In Southern Indiana, he probably sees a lot of meth trafficking, and asking wasn't out of line. However, he probably shouldn't have accused her of lying to him.
