Forget any knock-knock joke you've ever heard. Disregard any "a priest and a rabbi walk into a bar" joke. Don't even think about those "how many people does it take to screw in a light bulb?" jokes.

LaughLab has named the world's funniest joke. Ready? Don't drink anything (out of fear you might spill it through your nose) because here it is:

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps, 'My friend is dead! What can I do?' The operator says, 'Calm down. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead.' There is a silence, then a shot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says 'OK, now what?'

That's not too shabby, but best in the world? Really? And it took 13 years to figure this out? Come on, surely Kevin Hart, Louis C.K. or some kindergartner have something in their arsenal that is better.

The joke was submitted by Gurpal Gosall, a 31-year-old psychiatrist from Britain (who else could possibly know more about comedy than a British psychiatrist, right?). He explained the appeal simply: "I like the joke as it makes people feel better, because it reminds them that there is always someone out there who is doing something more stupid than themselves."

It's been a long time coming for this. LaughLab came up with the idea for world's funniest joke back in 2002. People submitted 44,000 jokes, with one-and-a-half-million votes pouring in. Geez, after 13 years you'd think something a little (okay, a lot) more out laugh out loud funny would've come along.
