A lot has changed in the last 13 years; thankfully, the way FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully storm a room hasn't.

Next year, the X-Files characters will return to FOX for the first time since 2002 for a special multi-episode TV event. While glimpses into the reboot are few and far between (Gillian Anderson's hair has pretty much been the long and short of it), we've now got an early look at how sci-fi's favorite duo will fare in 2016.

At the tail-end of the FOX promotional clip above, which was posted to YouTube last night (July 7), Mulder and Scully break into a dark space armed with flashlights and pistols. We can spot candles, a sink and a small mirror in their periphery, but...that's about it, unfortunately. Let's hope the show's logline—the truth is out there—holds up, because we're gonna need a liiiiittle bit more than this.

The segment comes at the tail-end of an announcement that FOX will air the show's first 201 episodes in a row—one each day for 201 days—leading up to the reboot's premiere. So in the event you missed Mulder's abduction, Scully's cancer battle or the uncovering of Nazi scientist secrets, you're in luck.

Check out the clip, share your thoughts on the first look at Mulder and Scully more than a decade later and hang tight for the premiere of the next X-Files installment on January 24, 2016 on FOX!
