Wood TV 8 reports that Keonta Dure Anthony and Dajohn Christopher Davis, both from the eastern Michigan, were taken into custody this week.

Following a break-in Tuesday at Westside Pharmacy in Kalamazoo, Michigan State Police and the DEA attempted to conduct a traffic stop on eastbound I-96 in Ionia County. The driver did not stop, but gave chase. Police pursed the suspect vehicle and were able to take the men into custody when they crashed into the deck of a home in Eaton County.

It is believed that Anthony and Davis have broken into five pharmacies since October 2020, stole drugs, and sold them. A DEA agent tells Wood TV 8 that a third person is involved and is not yet in custody.

Here's a timeline of the pharmacy break-ins:

  • Sept. 1, 2020 -  Medicine Tree Pharmacy in Mattawan, Mich. robbed
  • Oct. 19, 2020 - Fairview Hiawatha Pharmacy in Minneapolis, Minn. robbed
  • Dec. 24, 2020 - Georgetown Apothecary in Georgetown, Kentucky robbed
  • Feb. 11, 2020 - Attempted robbery at Kay Pharmacy on Plainfield Avenue in Grand Rapids, Mich.
  • June 15, 2020 - Attempted robbery at Westside Pharmacy in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The DEA used surveillance footage from the break-ins, cellphone records, the suspect's Internet search history, and more to track and eventually arrest Anthony and Davis.

According to Wood TV 8, a DEA agent believes Anthony and Davis committed conspiracy to commit burglary of controlled substances and conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances.
