23-Year-Old Olympic Cyclists Found Dead

Tragedy to report from the sports world where a medal winning United States Olympic cyclist was found dead over the weekend.

According to WOOD, Kelly Catlin who was an U.S. Olympic track cyclist who helped the women's team bring home the silve medal during the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games past away at the age of 23 at her home in California.

The chief executive of Cycling for the United States, Rob DeMartini said, "the entire cycling community is mourning this immense loss. We are offering continuous support to Kelly's teammates, coaches and staff. We also encourage all those who knew Kelly to support each other through the grieving."

Catlin's father, Mark Catlin announced that his daughter had committed suicide. There is no word on who found her or how Catlin took her own life. There has been no comment on her mental state as well.

Catlin was originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She became one of the top cyclists for the U.S. national team. She also was a cyclists for the Rally UHC Pro Cycling Team. Catlin was currently going to college where she was trying to get her graduate degree in computational mathematics at Stanford University.
