Michigan's craft beer scene is anchored by some big names like Founder's, Bell's, Short's, New Holland, and many more.  But none of those big names showed up on Thrillist's list of The 34 Hottest IPAs in America Right Now.

Get out of the way Mad Hatter, All Day IPA, and Two-Hearted Ale, you have some new competition!  Here are the 3 Michigan IPAs that made the list:

Old Nation Brewing Company - Williamston, Michigan

Old Nation's M-43 is literally a lifesaver.  The brewery was on hard times when they released their IPA, M-43 and ever since they have been selling out there stock left and right.  Their website describes M-43 as designed to accentuate the deep and complex character from the combination of Calypso, Amarillo, Citra, and Simcoe hops.  You can find M-43 year-round at over 300 Michigan beer retailers.

Transient Artisan Ales - Bridgman, Michigan

Transient's The Juice is Loose is a double IPA with sweet fruity notes of tangerine and passionfruit.  The Juice is Loose rotates and is only available at their brewery in Bridgman, so it isn't the easiest beer to find.

Homes Brewery - Ann Arbor, Michigan

The first rule of Homes' Same Same Different is don't talk about Same Same Different.  Or at least that is what the head brewer says because the more people who hear about the harder it is to keep it in stock.  Homes Brewery's website describes their beer as "Bright, citrusy, tropical hop flavor, brewed with Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe." You can find Same Same Different year-round at many Michigan retailers (when they have enough brewed to keep up with demand).
