5 Exotic Snacks You Need To Try At Michigan’s Own Rare Munchiez
I tend to consider myself a bit of snack connoisseur. I am willing to travel and dig to find some of the weirdest most off the wall flavors of my favorite snacks. So naturally, my For You Page on TikTok lead me to start following an account called Rare Munchiez, which bragged about selling some of the wildest varieties of candies, cookies, chips and drinks in the US.
I'm not the only one who found them, they've received orders from Drake and Kanye West and have more than 840,000 followers they're becoming one of the biggest names in exotic snacks in the US.
@raremunchiez I really hope this was actually drake who ordered!!! #OLAFLEX #summervibes #raremunchiez #smallbusinesstiktok #packagingorders #drake #celebrity #fyp #fypシ #xyzbca ♬ Munch (Feelin’ U) - Ice Spice
But did you know they're based in Michigan? And that you can just go to their store front and buy some of these amazing snacks without having to order online or pay shipping? Yes, you heard me correctly. And as the pinnacle of impatient, I realized what I needed to do: try some of these snacks (for science, of course)
Their storefront is right off I-96, just minutes from downtown Detroit in Belleville, and you can visit them most days in person during their limited hours.

Here are some of the best things I picked up when I stopped by their store front. You can also order these online if you don't want to make the trip to the east side of the state, but I promise you: it's worth the trip.
1. Giant Skittles
These come in several flavor varieties, but this weird candy from the UK is like if someone took a skittle and gave it steroids. The middle feels like a jelly bean, they're not actually sour, but they're really fun if you like Skittles already.
I put some wildberry skittles next to them so you can see truly how massive they are. (No, I don't have a skittles problem.)
2. Mountain Dew Purple Thunder
There are a million weird flavors of Mountain Dew, but not all of them live in America where we can easily try them. So if you're looking to try one of the rarer ones, this purple Mountain Dew from
It has a great flavor and a kick that reminds of you of an energy drink without all of the excess caffeine. Blackberry soda fans- this one is for you. If you want to switch off baja blast for a bit, this is a great soda to try.
3. Dark Chocolate Raspberry Kit Kats
You may only think that Kit Kats come in a handful of flavors (shout out blueberry muffin for being the best one you can find here) but in Asia, KitKat has created hundreds of flavor options over the years.
These Kit Kats have a different consistency than the ones you're used to, but the Dark Chocolate and Raspberry flavor will have you writing love letters to Mars begging them to make them more readily available.
4. Rice Krispy Squares - Caramel and Chocolate
These British treats would probably go well with Tea, but either way they're incredibly tasty and unlike any Rice Krispy you've had before.
One of the most fun parts of this product? Seeing it's price in pounds on the package, making it feel like you've traveled far away for this snack.
5. Sour Patch Scuba
I'm a huge fan of sour patch kids, and after seeing Rare Munchiez own owner on instagram saying this was one of his favorite snacks, I knew I had to try them for myself.
They're weird and tropical, and they have a cherry cola flavor that hits way better than you expect. But, they're absolutely worth the hype and one of the best snacks I snagged during my visit.
Happy snacking if you check out their store, or don't forget you can always order online and skip putting on pants. Either way, it's awesome to see one of my favorite parts of the internet hanging out in real life right here in Michigan.
