If you are a dog owner -- or a dog lover -- there is a new place that you just have to check out.

It’s called The Pack. It’s a place for dog owners to take their furry friends to play with other dogs. But this just isn’t any doggie playground. This place also serves food and drink. The Pack is Michigan’s first indoor off-leash dog park, restaurant, and bar.

What is also very cool about this place is that you don’t need a dog to enter. If you would just like to go grab lunch and a drink – and watch dogs frolic around with other dogs – you can do so! In the warmer months, they also will have an outdoor patio.

I fell in love with the place immediately when I saw the dog shrubbery outside the door...

Once inside, you will find a huge area for the dogs to play. There is also a very cool mural painted on the far wall. Very colorful and full of dogs!

The place is plenty big for the dogs to run around and play. There is some limited seating inside the dog playing area...

There also is a whole bar-type setup just outside the perimeter of the play area. While sitting there, they also have electrical and USB charging outlets in case you wanted to bring a laptop and do some work while visiting.

If you get hungry or thirsty, they have you taken care of. For food, they offer hand-tossed pizzas, wings, and loads of appetizers. For beverages, you have a choice between a rotation of beer, cider, and sangria on tap, cocktails, and wine. You can see their complete food and drink menu here.

I visited The Pack last Saturday and enjoyed a nice cold beer while being entertained by some very energetic dogs.

While sitting there enjoying my beer, I was able to watch the dogs playing around in the indoor dog park. They were having so much fun...

And occasionally you'll get a dog stopping by to say "hello". This is Hazel...

The dogs all seemed too happy to be able to run around and play with other dogs. Some even stopped and smiled for a photo...

If your dog would rather play outside, they have also an outdoor area...

For more information on The Pack, and to see their rates to bring your dog to this unique dog park, check out their website. If you do have a dog, prices are very reasonable at just $34 for a 5 Visit Punch Card. There is no admission charge to just stop by for food and drink.

Have a big group of dog lovers who want to get together somewhere? They also do group rentals!

The Pack is located at 5205 West River Drive NE in Comstock Park.

This place is my new favorite location to grab a meal, a beverage, and be entertained by a group of furry, canine friends.

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
