Another Confirmed Cougar Sighting in Michigan

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has confirmed another cougar sighting in Michigan.

The Michigan DNR made the announcement on Facebook on Wednesday. They say landowners near Saint Jacques in Delta County captured the image on a trail camera on Sept. 22. It's the 41st confirmed cougar sighting in Michigan since 2008. 40 of the sightings have been in the Upper Peninsula. The location of the latest sighting is about 11 miles from the last cougar sighting in mid-August.

In August, the Michigan DNR said there is no conclusive evidence of a Michigan breeding population. The cougars being seen in Michigan likely come from a population which is usually found in South Dakota, Wyoming and northwest Nebraska.
